Notes on Adulting: How to Live Life.
The truth is, nobody has it all figured out when it comes to life.
Hey friends, thank you so much for the love shown in response to my previous write-up. As usual, I received mind-blowing feedback. You all are amazing.
Life is a complex journey, and recent experiences have opened my eyes to many incredible things. It's about weighing the good and the bad, figuring out how to live my life, and making choices. As someone who values principles, I find guidance in the rules I set for myself. When it comes to life, I want to enjoy it without disregarding the consequences and wake up one day realizing I've taken it too lightly. So, how do I live my life? I believe there is no definitive guide or manual on how to live it. I recently had a conversation with a friend, and we discussed at length about living life. He seemed unsure about the best way to approach it. In my opinion, each of us must live life in our own unique way, guided by our conscience. Understanding the concepts of good and bad, truth and consequence, is essential to leading a fulfilling life. The truth is, nobody has it all figured out when it comes to life. We are all still learning because life presents both challenges and beauty. Friends, the only compass guiding us to live the best life is our conscience, and I fear for those who have lost it because the world can turn blue for them.
I want you to know, friends, that feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about living life is understandable. Remember that life is a continuous learning experience, and it's okay to feel unsure at times. Take small steps, focus on what brings you joy, and be patient with yourself. If you're feeling particularly stuck or down, consider reaching out to a trusted friend, family member, or professional for support. You don't have to navigate it all alone.
Here are some tips on how to live your life:
1. Define your values and priorities: Reflect on what truly matters to you and set meaningful goals accordingly.
2. Cultivate self-awareness: Understand your strengths, weaknesses, and emotions. Regular self-reflection will help you make better choices.
3. Take care of your well-being: Prioritize your physical and mental health. Exercise, eat nutritious food, get enough sleep, and practice self-care.
4. Seek personal growth: Continuously learn, explore new interests, and challenge yourself. Embrace opportunities for self-improvement, and view failure as a stepping stone to success.
5. Build positive relationships: Surround yourself with supportive and inspiring people who uplift you. Foster healthy connections and contribute to your communities.
6. Embrace change and adaptability: Life is full of uncertainties and unexpected events. Develop resilience and flexibility to navigate challenges and embrace new opportunities.
7. Practice gratitude: Appreciate the present moment and cultivate gratitude for what you have. It can enhance your overall well-being and bring a positive perspective.
8. Find purpose and meaning: Discover what gives your life meaning and pursue it. Engage in activities that align with your passions and make a positive impact on others.
9. Take calculated risks: Step outside your comfort zone and seize opportunities. Evaluate the potential benefits and consequences before making decisions.
10. Live in the present: While planning for the future is important, don't forget to live in the present moment. Enjoy the journey and make the most of each day.
Remember, everyone's path is unique, so trust your instincts and create a life that aligns with your authentic self.
My Weekly Activities:
This week has been one of the most productive and memorable moments in my life.
On Books: Friends! I bought Forbes magazine, yes! The April/May edition. It made me feel so beautiful, to be honest. It was as though my pictures and name were written on it. The content was driven. My dreaming mojo went from 75 to 150. I also read articles on marketing and business strategy. It was a nice experience.
On Music: I listened to Taylor Swift's "Blank Space," Lizzo feat SZA's "Special," 2baba's "Dance in the Rain," and "At Dusk" by Nora Noda.
On Podcasts: I listened to "Bible Before Breakfast," "Calm it Down," "Nigeria in my 20s," and Vusi's "Fallen Heroes." Vusi's podcast makes me feel safe, seen, and is highly relatable. "Fallen Heroes" spoke about how people are insensitive when it comes to judging others. I enjoyed listening, and I'm sure you will too.
On Movies: I indulged in quite a number of movies, and I wonder how I found the time. I watched romantic comedies on Netflix, including "Here Love Lies," "Fix Us," "A Simple Lie," "Strangers," and "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story."
Thank you so much, friends! See you soon!🤎
